Concrete Slabs for Shops, Garages & More
A building is only as good as the slab under it. We pour shop, garage, and shed slabs engineered for the load they will actually carry — with thickened edges, correct reinforcement, and anchor-bolt layouts ready for your builder.
This is where our engineering and construction background matters most. A backyard shed slab and a slab for a shop with a two-post lift are completely different designs — different thickness, different reinforcement, different footings. Pour the wrong one and you find out the expensive way, after the building is on top of it.
We ask what the slab will carry before we ever quote it: welding table or riding mower, RV or sedan, metal building or stick frame. Then we size the thickness, base, reinforcement, and footings to match — and coordinate anchor bolts and layout with your building supplier so erection day goes smoothly.

Honest Pricing
What slabs cost in the Tulsa area
Slab pricing varies more than any other flatwork because the engineering varies: a light-duty shed pad may run $6–$10 per square foot, while a 6″ shop slab with turned-down footings and heavy reinforcement typically runs $9–$15 per square foot. A 30×40 shop slab commonly lands in the $12,000–$18,000 range.
What moves the price
- What the slab will carry (vehicles, lifts, machinery, building loads)
- Thickness, footings, and reinforcement the design requires
- Dirt work: pad building, grading, and compaction needed
- Site access for trucks and equipment
- Finish type and vapor barrier requirements

Slabs FAQs
How much does a 30x40 concrete slab cost in Oklahoma?
A 30×40 (1,200 sq ft) shop slab in the Tulsa area typically costs $12,000–$18,000 depending on thickness, footings, reinforcement, and dirt work. Light-duty versions can run less; slabs for heavy equipment or lifts run more. The load the slab must carry drives the design, and the design drives the price.
How thick does a concrete slab need to be for a shop?
Most residential shop slabs are 5–6 inches thick with reinforcement sized to the load, over a compacted base. Slabs supporting vehicle lifts, heavy machinery, or large metal buildings may need thicker sections or footings at load points. A 4-inch slab is adequate only for light storage use.
Do I need a permit for a shop slab or outbuilding?
Most Tulsa-area cities require a building permit for outbuildings above a certain size, and the slab is typically inspected as part of that permit. Requirements vary by city — we will tell you what applies to your project and make sure the slab passes inspection.
Can you coordinate with my metal building supplier?
Yes — and you want your concrete contractor to insist on it. We work from your building drawings to get slab dimensions, footings, and anchor bolt placement exactly right, so the erection crew is not fighting the foundation on day one.
